ABOUT NIX
Nix Ironstone doesn’t just walk into a new era — she sets it on fire. Formerly known as Nicole Rayy, she spent over a decade making her mark in the Canadian country scene, building a loyal fanbase and earning a reputation for championing women in music. Now, with a new name and a bold new rock sound that’s been simmering under the surface, she’s stepping fully into who she’s always been.
Under her new moniker, Nix Ironstone is turning up the heat and letting the darkness speak. Blending indie/alternative rock and goth pop with a fierce feminine edge, Nix is stepping fully into her power with a sound that’s raw, dark, sultry, and unapologetic. Think Evanescence meets The Pretty Reckless — haunting melodies, cinematic grit, and anthemic hooks that punch you right in the heart.
Her debut single as Nix Ironstone, Dead To Me, dropped in October 2025 and set the tone for everything to come — a blistering power anthem about loyalty, heartbreak, and female solidarity. In May 2026, she followed it with Nervous, a seductive, high-voltage alt-rocker that reveals a softer kind of intensity: the thrill of chemistry, vulnerability, and the kind of connection that still gives you butterflies. Equal parts dangerous and addictive, the track showcases another side of Nix’s artistry — proving she can be both fierce and magnetic.
But this transformation isn’t just sonic — it’s a statement. As Nicole Rayy, she created a lasting impact by championing women through initiatives like HarmoniaFest and the Harmonia Songwriter Series, which have become pillars in the Canadian music community. With ten Country Music Association of Ontario Award nominations, a 2024 Music Video of the Year win for Dirty, over 5 million streams, and 45,000+ social media followers, she’s already earned industry and fan acclaim. A seasoned performer, she’s graced stages from Lucknow’s Music in the Fields to Dauphin’s Countryfest, to four consecutive years at the World Music Festival in Shanghai.
Now, as Nix Ironstone, she’s taking everything she’s built — and cranking it to eleven. The heart of the music hasn’t changed: it’s still fearless, emotionally honest, and rooted in connection. But now it comes with sharper edges, louder guitars, darker glamour, and a new name to match — all driven by the same fire that’s fueled her from the start, now burning brighter than ever.
