NIX IRONSTONE
Nix Ironstone doesn’t just walk into a new era — she sets it on fire. Formerly known as Nicole Rayy, she spent over a decade making her mark in the Canadian country scene, building a loyal fanbase and earning a reputation for championing women in music. Now, with a new name and a bold new rock sound that’s been simmering under the surface, she’s stepping fully into who she’s always been.
Under her new moniker, Nix Ironstone is turning up the heat and letting the darkness speak. Blending indie/alternative rock and goth pop with a fierce feminine edge, Nix is stepping fully into her power with a sound that’s raw, dark, sultry, and unapologetic. Think Evanescence meets The Pretty Reckless — haunting melodies, cinematic grit, and anthemic hooks that punch you right in the heart.

LATEST RELEASE
“Nervous” is a sultry, slow-burning alt-rock love song built on moody atmospheres, haunting melodies, and a dark, cinematic edge. It captures a connection that never loses its spark, the kind that still gives you butterflies years later, pairing intimacy with a quiet, slow-building intensity.
Confident and unapologetically intimate, the track blends atmospheric production with a restrained, smouldering energy, celebrating female desire through a lens of self-assurance and control. This is a song for women who know what they want and aren’t afraid to embrace their sensuality as a form of empowerment.
Co-written with Priyana Sen Smet and Matt Riches, and produced by JUNO Award-winning producer Hill Kourkoutis (SATE, The Cliks), “Nervous” is more than a love song, it’s about owning your pleasure, confidence, and voice.
“Nervous” is about the kind of connection that never fades, the one that still gives you butterflies no matter how much time has passed. I wanted to capture female desire from a place of confidence and ownership, where you’re not afraid of how deeply you feel and you own it. - Nix
